Animals reproduce in two main ways: mammals are viviparous, which means they have live babies. Oher animals lay eggs. Let´s see how these chickens arrive to the world.

Vertebrate and invertebrate animals

As we saw in the classroom, we can classify animals in different ways. One way is to classify animals into vertebrates and invertebrates. Vertebrates have a backbone and invertebrates don´t have backbone.

We can also classify vertebrates into five smaller groups: mammals, birds, fish, reptiles and amphibians.
